Around 25 brethren enjoyed an event organised by the Provincial Learning & Development team on Saturday 1stOctober in Swansea Masonic Hall. From the feedback from the previous event in Bridgend in June, one of the main topics that proved popular for a future event was to have a walk around one of our temples with the furniture and offices explained.
The team got to work on putting together exactly that, and on the morning the Provincial Grand Learning & Development Officer, W.Bro. Merrick C. Jones, PAGPurs and W.Bro. John L. Williams from the L&D team were delighted to see so many brethren attend.
After a short talk from W.Bro. Merrick about the history and origins of our lodge rooms, he and W.Bro. John took two groups of delegates around the two temples in Swansea, explaining the history and symbolism of the various ornaments and furniture, as well as the several lodge offices, roles and responsibilities.
Pleasingly, the feedback afterwards was very positive, and the team hope to have even more brethren in attendance at the next event in the new year. Any brother or companion interested in our L&D events can contact the events team at events.pldt@nullgmail.com. Requests for lodge or chapter talks should be directed to presentations@nullsouthwalesmason.com, while general L&D enquiries can be sent to the Provincial Grand L&D Officer at orator@nullsouthwalesmason.com
