Roderick Hill Lodge in Chepstow has two members who are both active Provincial Grand Sword Bearers. W.Bro. John Phillips (right) of Universities Lodge, Cardiff , No. 5461, is the active Sword Bearer for the Province of South Wales and W.Bro. Hilton Willott (left) of Roderick Hill Lodge, No. 8619, has the same position in the Province of Monmouthshire.
John met Hilton at a festive board when both were visiting Silurian Lodge in Newport and when John told Hilton that he was born in Chepstow, Hilton invited him to become a joining member of Roderick Hill Lodge. They were both given the great honour of becoming the Provincial Grand Sword Bearers in their respective Provinces this year and have been advised that it could be unique to have two active Provincial Grand Sword Bearers as members of the same lodge.
