The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master accompanied by R.W.Bro. Gareth Jones, OBE, Past Assistant Grand Master, Past Provincial Grand Master for this Province, members of the Joint Executive, present and past, and many other brethren convened an Especial Meeting of this Provincial Grand Lodge under the banner of the South Wales Lodge of Advancement No. 8748 at Neath on Monday 26th February. The principal business was to invest:
- W.Bro. The Rev. Canon D. Huw E. Mosford, DepGChap as Deputy Provincial Grand Master
- W.Bro. Timothy R. Clark, PAGDC as Assistant Provincial Grand Master
- W.Bro. Merrick C. Jones, PAGPurs as Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies
- W.Bro. Paul C. Bunyan, PAGDC as Provincial Grand Charity Steward
Prior to the opening of Provincial Grand Lodge the South Wales Lodge of Advancement welcomed a new Initiate with aplomb.
Responding to his toast at the Festive Board the Provincial Grand Master thanked the Lodge, and all other brethren who assisted with preparations, for hosting the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting at Neath. He thanked the Lodge for the very generous donation of £200.00 to the Provincial Samaritan Fund.
The Provincial Grand Master then announced that:
- W.Bro. Dr. Akram Baig, CStJ, PSGD, Assistant Provincial Grand Master will be the Executive Lead on the Province’s Tercentenary celebrations.
- W.Bro. Robert G. Payne, PSGD, Assistant Provincial Grand Master will be the Chairman of the 2032 Festival.
- The Masonic Benevolent Fund of South Wales – under the leadership of V.W.Bro. Andrew L. Gretton, PGSwdB, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, as Chairman of the Fund – has completed the purchase of a plot of land from Bridgend Masonic Hall. An office building will be constructed on the site which will become the Provincial Office for both Craft and Royal Arch administration in this Province in due course.
