On Wednesday, 16th January Wye & Ithon No. 3320 celebrated its centenary in fine style at the Masonic Hall in Llandrindod Wells.
The Centenary Convocation was graced by the presence of the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, E. Comp. D. Gerald Rowbottom, accompanied by a full Team comprising E. Comp. Philip Bevan, 3rd Provincial Grand Principal and E. Comp. Chris Eveleigh, Assistant to the Principals, acting as 2nd Provincial Grand Principal.
The evening began with a brief history of the Chapter, Consecrated in 1921, given by E. Comp. Ronald Colton. The ME Grand Superintendent presented the Chapter with its Centenary Warrant, praising the foresight of the Founder Members in establishing the Chapter and the Members, both past and present, who have made the Chapter the vibrant entity that it is.
The Oration, delivered by E. Comp. Philip Bevan, drew striking parallels between 1921, recovering from the Spanish ‘Flu Epidemic, and today, when we are still recovering from the effects of the Covid Pandemic.
The evening was completed by all attendees enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal which rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable occasion for both the visitors and Companions of Wye & Ithon Chapter.
