It was a night to remember at Pontypridd Lodge No. 9001, as a truly special and personal milestone was celebrated. The evening began in customary fashion, with the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Gordon Ponsford, opening the Lodge, supported by his Wardens and officers. Shortly after, the gavel and the duties of the Chair were handed over to W.Bro. Wayne Francis, setting the stage for what would become a unique and touching ceremony.
Waiting outside the Lodge was Mr. Bleddyn Francis, a candidate in a state of darkness, and more significantly, the grandson of W.Bro. Wayne Francis. As Bleddyn took his first regular step in Freemasonry, the occasion became one filled with emotion, pride, and joy for all present.
The ceremony will live long in the memory with both members and the many visitors who witnessed this rare and heartfelt event, as a grandfather initiated his own grandson into the Craft. Bro. Bleddyn now embarks on his Masonic journey, surrounded by the close-knit and supportive Brethren of Pontypridd Lodge, who will no doubt guide and nurture him through the early stages of his Masonic journey.
The festive board that followed was a lively and joyous celebration, filled with laughter, and friendship, the warmth for which Pontypridd Lodge is well known for. A true example of the spirit of Freemasonry, tradition, family, and companionship combined.
