On Friday, February 21st, 2025, the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, D. Gerald Rowbottom, accompanied by his Royal Arch executives, attended his final meeting as Grand Superintendent before standing down on Saturday, March 8th, 2025. It was an evening filled with emotion and heartfelt gratitude, marking the end of his remarkable eight-year tenure.
The meeting was held at Sure and Steadfast Chapter No. 8991, In Cardiff Masonic Hall, a Chapter renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and deep-rooted family connections. Fittingly, the evening became a true family affair as Bro. Shane Groves was exalted into the Royal Arch. His father, E.Comp. Anthony Groves, proudly occupied the First Principal’s Chair, while his elder brother, E.Comp. Danny Groves, carried out the duties of Principal Sojourner.
The ceremony was nothing short of exceptional, a magnificent display of companionship, dedication, and hard work. It highlighted the ethos of Royal Arch Masonry, togetherness, laughter and friendship, a truly memorable evening.
As the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent prepares to pass on his responsibilities, the evening served as a poignant reminder of his immense contributions. His unwavering dedication to Royal Arch Masonry, his leadership, and above all, his love and compassion for all companions will be profoundly missed. His legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire for years to come.
