1727 – 2027 Tercentenary

Celebrating 300 years of Freemasonry in South Wales

Welcome to the 1727 – 2027 Tercentenary Celebration section of the website. This area is dedicated to our activities commemorating 300 years since the founding of the Provincial Grand Lodge of South Wales in 1727.

Led by R.W. Bro D. Gerald Rowbottom, Provincial Grand Master, and W. Bro Dr. Akram Baig, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, we are embarking on a series of events designed to unify, support, recognise, and promote Freemasonry in South Wales. Our celebrations aim to involve every lodge and brother, enhancing the community’s perception of Freemasonry while supporting local charities and recognising local talents.

Our primary objectives include:

  1. Engaging all brethren: Every member is encouraged to participate in and support the array of events.
  2. Supporting Local Charities: Fundraising for community charities through various events such as raffles and dinners.
  3. Promoting Freemasonry: Increasing visibility through open days and community events.
  4. Celebrating Together: A grand finale event that’s accessible to all brethren, highlighting the spirit of Freemasonry.

Each lodge will receive support from Area Chairs, Deputy Chairs, and Liaison Officers to maximize involvement. This tercentenary is not only a reflection of our past but a beacon for our future – join us in celebrating this monumental milestone.
