St Cecilia Demonstration Team perform unique 1717 Enactment Ceremony

The St Cecilia Demonstration Team performed the very first of several unique 1717 Enactment Ceremonies in celebration of the Tercentenary of United Grand Lodge, by kind invitation of Cambrian Lodge 364, at the Neath Masonic Hall on Tuesday 31st January 2017.

The team are aiming to perform this unique Enactment throughout the Province in order to raise funds for the 2021 Festival. St Cecilia Lodge 8748 is very proud to support the 2021 Festival and have recently achieved a Bronze Award.

This is a great example of how Brethen & Lodges can create additional ways to raise further funds towards the 2021 Festival in aid of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution.

Brecon Jazz Festival Concerts, 13th and 14th August

brecon-jazz16-logoThe two major concerts of this year’s Brecon Jazz Festival will take place in the splendid and acoustically superb setting of Brecon Cathedral.  On Satuday 13 August at 6.00 pm, A Duke Ellington Showcase will feature The Capital City Jazz Orchestra, vocalist sublime Sarah Moule and all-round dancer and entertainer Johnny Tudor.  They will present a programme of Ellington favourites alongside excerpts from some of his landmark but rarely performed large scale works.  On Sunday 14 August at 7.30 pm, the hugely talented Jacqui Dankworth together with her celebrated American singer/songwriter/pianist husband Charlie Wood and stellar group of supporting musicians will deliver a feast of jazz classics, contemporary icons, original compositions and the very best of The Great American Songbook.  Further details of the concerts are attached for your information.

Hopefully many of you will wish to take advantage of this memorable opportunity to enjoy the performances of some true A list artists.  Therefore, in addition to increasing the potential for the full houses which these concerts merit, as a further incentive to Brethren, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Gareth Jones OBE, has readily agreed to the concerts also being used to generate a financial contribution to our 2021 Festival.  I can therefore confirm that 20% of every ticket sold to members of the masonic fraternity and their guests, including the booking fee, will be donated to the 2021 Festival funds.  This means that the Festival will benefit by £2.64 for every ticket sold for the Ellington Showcase.  For Jacqui Dankworth’s concert the return per ticket sold will be £3.08.

Summer Ball, Brangwyn Hall, Swansea – July 9th

One of the premier events in this year’s RMBI Festival Calendar will be the Summer Ball to be held at the prestigious Brangwyn Hall, Swansea on Saturday 9th July.

We will be honoured by the presence of the Provincial Grand Master RW.Bro Gareth Jones OBE, Festival President. It is hoped that as many Lodges as possible will attend to support the Provincial Grand Master and the RMBI Festival.

I, as Chairman of the 2021 Festival Appeal, invite all Lodge members, especially Worshipful Masters and Wardens, to support this prestigious event in aid of the RMBI. It shall be a delight to see you and representatives of your Lodge, accompanied by their partners supporting the event.

There are a few tables of 10 still available and it would be encouraging if Lodges of the Province supported the event by booking or sharing a table with a partner Lodge.
