Colonnade Club AGM 2025: New chairman appointed and donation made to Tercentenary

The Colonnade Club held its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at the prestigious Cardiff and County Club. The meeting was well attended by members and distinguished guests, marking another successful year for the Club. As is tradition, the AGM saw the appointment of a new Chairman where the R.W Provincial Grand Master and Club President D. Gerald Rowbottom declared Ross J. Williams JP as the new Chairman, succeeding Paul Corcoran. Ross has been an integral part of the Club’s success and will no doubt continue to drive its growth and engagement in supporting New and Young masons through their journey.

Supporting him in key roles for the upcoming year are Deputy Chairman: Luke Scowen, Treasurer: Richard Schumack and Secretary: Paul Corcoran

During the AGM the outgoing committee was delighted to bestow Honorary Membership upon three esteemed Brethren, W.Bro Michael Coombs, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, E.Comp Ian Jones, Provincial Grand Mentor Royal Arch and W.Bro. Claude Evans in recognition of their outstanding contributions and unwavering support of The Colonnade club.

The Colonnade Club were also pleased to announce a contribution of a £1,000 towards the upcoming Provincial Tercentenary fund on behalf of all club members where W.Bro. Akram Baig, Assistant provincial grand master graciously accepted the donation on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master and expressed his gratitude for the Club’s generosity and support. W.Bro Akram added “I am delighted with the support from Colonnade Club and all its members and look forward to similar support going forward from other lodges”.

During the meeting, the outgoing Chairman, Paul Corcoran, reflected on the Club’s 10-year history and its remarkable growth over the last 12 months. This year the club welcomed 127 new members and successfully organised 11 social events for members, families and potential candidates, facilitated 48 lodge visits through the province and 4 trips to Lodges in other Masonic Provinces including London Freemasons Hall.
