At a meeting of Hendre Lodge No. 3250, on 23rd January 2014, our Right Worshipful Grand Master accepted the Lodge gavel from the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Brian Langley, PGStB, PProvSGW and convened a meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge.

The purpose of this especial meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge was to Appoint and Invest W.Bro. Peter Jones, PAGDC, PPrJGW as Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in succession to W.Bro. William Emrys Jenkins, PAGDC who had served the Province (and Three provincial Grand Masters) as Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in a most loyal and accomplished manner. The event was all the more emotional as W.Bro. Jones, PAGDC is of course the elder ‘blood brother’ of our Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master.

Our new Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies immediately showed why he was the outstanding candidate for this honourable office by the capable and effective handling of the remainder of proceedings of this especial meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge.

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master was also pleased to receive, Obligate and Invest W.Bro. William Emrys Jenkins, PAGDC as an Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Masonic Province of South Wales, to rapturous applause.

In a surprise addition to the agenda, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master requested W.Bro. Des Rees, to be presented and proceeded to Promote him with immediate effect to the rank of Past provincial Senior Grand Warden, in recognition of his sterling work in providing items of furniture to Lodges throughout the Province (including a superb Kneeling Stool to Hendre Lodge), and his help to many Masonic bodies in so many ways, not least his impressive tally of some one hundred and ninety six talks and lectures to date!

At the Festive Board, a sum of £1,000 was raised by a raffle, which is to be donated to two worthy causes; the Llyn-Y-Pia Hospital Stroke Ward and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
