The new date for the investiture of the new Assistant Provincial Grand Master (APGM), W. Bro. Kelvin L. Jones, PJGD, has been announced, but is dependent on the resumption of masonic activity following the coronavirus pandemic.
The ceremony was to be held on the 7 April 2020 at Proscenium Lodge No. 9059 in Cardiff, but because the Grand Master having called a cessation to all masonic activity for four months, a postponement was required.
However, the appointment of W. Bro. Kelvin as APGM by patent will still take effect on 7 April 2020.
Assuming that masonic activity will be resumed, the new date for the investiture will hopefully be Saturday 5 September 2020 at Music Lodge No. 9919, Cardiff Masonic Hall starting at 10:15 am; the new APGM being a founder member of the Music Lodge as well as a Past Master of Proscenium Lodge.
Provincial Grand Master, Gareth Jones, said “I’m delighted that Kelvin is joining our Leadership team. He brings a wealth of experience, great people skills and, of course, an outrageous sense of humour, all of which I know he will use to good effect in the coming months and years. It is such a shame I couldn’t invest him properly today, but his appointment takes effect immediately and I look forward to investing him with his chain of office, hopefully on 5 September at Music Lodge.”
Further details of the investiture will be released in due course.
