Prestonian Lecture: Scouting and Freemasonry: Two Parallel Organisations? Monday, 24th February 2025

On Monday, 24th February 2025, W.Bro. Tony Harvey PJGD will deliver his renowned 2012 Prestonian Lecture, titled “Scouting and Freemasonry: Two Parallel Organisations?”, at the meeting of Llangattock with Howardian Lodge No. 2547. Tony Harvey, a dedicated Scout for over fifty years, has played significant roles in UK Scouting, contributing to the recruitment, training, and management of adult volunteers. He currently serves as an HQ Training Adviser, a Training Manager in Derbyshire, and chairs both the Appointments Advisory Committee and Awards Advisory Group in his local area.

This meeting holds special significance for Llangattock with Howardian Lodge, as it will soon transition into “The Scouting Lodge for South Wales” in March 2025. The event, open to Freemasons and Scouters alike, is expected to strengthen the long-standing relationship between Scouting and Freemasonry, raising awareness of this connection throughout the Province and beyond.

The after proceedings will be a White Table dinner, offering attendees the chance to engage in thoughtful discussion on the shared values and principles between Scouting and Freemasonry. If you are interested in attending this memorable event, please save the date—further details will be provided in due course.
