W.Bro. Richard Thomas has this year been honoured with the appointment of Provincial Junior Grand Warden. He eagerly anticipates a year of travelling the Province in his new capacity, providing support to the Provincial Grand Master and occasionally representing him.
He was initiated into Proscenium Lodge in Cardiff, in 1997, and attained the Chair of King Solomon in 2002. Over the years, Richard has achieved various promotions in Provincial Grand Lodge, Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2008, Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 2012, Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies from 2017-19 and Provincial Grand Organist 2022-23.
Richard was the Primus Master of the Music Lodge No.9919, and he is currently the Secretary and Preceptor of the Lodge. He is also the founding secretary of the St John of Jerusalem Lodge No.10024 which was formed on the 19th November 2022 and he is also the Secretary of the Lodge of Fidelity No.6112.
In the Royal Arch, Richard was exalted in November 2004 and later elected as 1st Principal in 2010 of Edgar Rutter Chapter. Richard was appointed Provincial Grand Standard Bearer in 2013, promoted to Past Provincial Grand Sojourner in 2016, Provincial Grand Organist from 2022-23, and Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 2023. He was the Founding Principal Sojourner of Proscenium Chapter No. 9059 in 2006.
Richard was admitted to the Powys Chapter No.406 Rose Croix, where he attained the rank of Sovereign in 2015. His present rank within the chapter is 30°.
In Mark Master Masons Degree, Richard gained admission into the Cowbridge Mark Lodge No.1573 and is currently the Worshipful Master of the Lodge. He is also Senior Deacon of the Principality Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No.1057.
