At an especial meeting of Provincial Grand Chapter, held in Bridgend on 10th January 2025, the ME GSupt announced that after 8 years as our GSupt, he would be retiring with effect of midnight Friday 07th March 2025. The ME GSupt went onto announce that he was delighted to advise those present, that his successor will be EComp Paul Raymond Clement, PGSoj; who will be Installed, Invested and Obligated at Cardiff Masonic Hall on Saturday 08th March 2025 – Full details and booking information will be distributed during the week beginning 12th January 2025.
The announcement was met with extremely warm applause and a short statement is appended by our GSupt Designate.
My Dear Companions of the Province of South Wales,
I have no doubt that the news of my appointment as Grand Superintendent will have been as much of a surprise to you as it was to me on being asked to undertake the role.
Having enjoyed almost 45 years as a Royal Arch Mason, I am looking forward to serving you to the best of my ability in this new capacity, and to working with the superb team which has just been established by Excellent Companion Gerald Rowbottom prior to announcing his retirement. I must thank him, on behalf of you all, for leaving the Province in such good heart and for all the support and encouragement I know that he will afford me personally in the years that lie ahead.
We are embarking on an exciting epoch in Royal Arch Masonry and, in the light of the new Supreme Grand Chapter initiatives, have been given a golden opportunity to raise the profile of the Order and, at the same time, strengthen our Membership. As custodians of one of the finest Ceremonies in Freemasonry, which is considered to be the culmination of pure ancient Masonry, I have no doubt that we will rise to challenge of ensuring that our Chapters in South Wales continue to provide the Companions and future Candidates with a happy and fulfilling experience in Royal Arch Masonry.
I wish you well and thank you for the friendship and companionship which our Royal Arch Masonry provides.
