Day 2 of the Tercentenary Events Committee Tour of the Province bike ride sees the team down to 2 riders. Leaving at 07.34, the Swansea to Cardiff leg will see the W.Bro Simon Francis and W.Bro Tim Clark visiting the Masonic Halls at Port Talbot, Maesteg, Treorchy, Pontypridd, Treharris, Bargoed, Caerphilly – finally reaching Cardiff Masonic Hall after a 120km ride.
After a disastrous first stage with W.Bro Tim Clark’s puncture on Fabian Way, out of Swansea, the team reach the Masonic Temple in Port Talbot at 08.55… 45 minutes behind schedule.
Making up a bit of time, W.Bro Simon and W.Bro Tim arrive at the Masonic Temple, Maesteg at 09.37
Three down, four to go… the team reach the Masonic Temple, Treorchy at 11.34
With the weather improving, at 12.20 the team arrive at the Masonic Temple, Pontypridd to be greeted by W.Bro Arnold Hutchins and his dog Cracker. After a short 18 minute break, they set off for the Masonic Temple in Treharris.
The team arrive at the Masonic Temple, Treharris at 13.40 along with team support W.Bro Akram Baig and W.Bro Paul Bunyan.
A quick coffee at the Masonic Hall, Bargoed at 14.20 before setting off for Caerphilly!
Caerphilly Masonic Temple by 15.25, now off to Cardiff!
The team arrive at Cardiff Masonic Hall before 16.30! having cycled 73 miles and climbing 5,000ft! Now back to Swansea and home to bed, ready for day 3, Swansea to The Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, Porthcawl, ready for the annual Strawberry Tea.
