Twyn Community Hub in Merthyr Tydfil is experiencing severe funding issues and may have to close by the end of the year, withdrawing vital community support and services unless additional support or donations are received.
The Hub offers activities, services, and classes for people of all ages and abilities, including those with Dementia or Alzheimer’s. It provides Empathy Dolls, Companion Cats, and Fiddle Muff Comforters for loan, and runs an after-school tea time club that helps local families by offering children a place to go after school for a hot meal and access to computers for homework.
The Hub is the beating heart of the community and has been since 2008.
Upon learning of their plight, Loyal Cambrian Lodge No. 110 donated a generous sum of £1,000. The donation was presented by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Matthew McCarthy, to Louise Goodman the hub manager.
