On Friday, the 11th of October 2024, W.Bro. Ronald John David Boon (PPrSGW)of Old Barrians Lodge No. 6671. marked an extraordinary milestone, celebrating 60 years of continuous service to the Craft. The event was made more memorable by the presence of AProvGM, W.Bro. Dr. Akram Baig, who had the distinct honour of presenting W.Bro. Ronald with a certificate and commemorative lapel pin on behalf of the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master.
W.Bro. Ronald’s Masonic journey commenced on the 25th of June 1964, when he was initiated into Bognor Regis Lodge, (Sussex) No. 6295.
In 1970, he became a Founder member of Old Barrians Lodge No. 6671, where he later served as Worshipful Master in 1980, becoming a joining member of Loyal Sportsman Lodge No. 9197 on the 29th of October 1986, attaining the Chair on the 3rd of October 2001, becoming a joining member of Old Millhillian Lodge No. 5752, (London) in 2007.
Within the Provincial Grand Lodge, W.Bro. Ronald was first appointed to Past Provincial Grand Superintendent of Works in 1996 and was later promoted to the distinguished rank of Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2018, and promoted to Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden in 2024.
W.Bro. Ron is held in the very highest of regards by all who know him, always on hand to give advice and support to younger and less experienced Freemasons.
